M.A.G.B. Show 2nd October 2005
Nisar v Price

So it had arrived the night everybody had been waiting for, the night Qasim Nisar would take on the revered Ivor Price from Featherstone KB, lets face it as far as many people were concerned, since the cancellation of the Top of the Bill match between B.M.A.C. fighter Sam Lawlor and Aerokicks Ottis Treasure and even with the greatest of respect to all the other fighters on the evenings fight card, this fight was what this night was all about. The hype and pre-flight predictions from everyone and their mothers had only served to further build up the anticipation for this match. Qasim and his fellow training partners Tommy Collett and Tyler Shakespeare had all trained extensively for their fights as you would expect from U.S.K.A. fighters, true to form Neil had moulded each fighters training programme and game plan to cater for each their individual talents and opponents. So now all was in place for what would turn out to be a night to remember, U.S.K.A.'s "terrifying Trio" had been prepared to face another big night in their kickboxing careers and in unison they rose to the task.
U.S.K.A support had never been so passionate as when Tyler was announced to the crowd, a noise that can only be described as deafening mingled with this fighters entrance music of Peter Tosh's retro reggae anthem of the "The Steppin Razor" you would have been easily forgiven for believing this Jnr Three round Prestige match was more in keeping with a welcome to afforded to a world title proffesional bout.

Tyler 'THE STEPPIN RAZOR Shakespeare Vs Daniel Parr
A confident Parr was first to the ring to a warm applause from the Birmingham crowd. That warm applause however was about to get a lot hotter as the home fighters name was announced...'From the U.S.K.A kickboxing club, please give it up for Tyler the steppin razor Shakespeare'
A pensive looking Tyler bounced his way to the ring.
After all, he was the three belt British champion and he was the one putting his hard earned reputation on the line against his hungry opponent from Hinckley.
Round 1
'Show him no respect' must have been the last words out of coach Ricky Holohan's mouth to Daniel as he left his corner.
Daniel set his stall out early and was looking to turn this bout into a brawl knowing of his more experienced opponents technical ability.
A torrid first 30 seconds saw the Razor on the back foot having to work to find the counter attack.
As the initial pace dropped Tyler began to work his range throwing multiple kick combinations.
All the same Daniel was in no mood to allow Tyler back into the first round and again pushed forward to close down the gap between the two.
Playing the counter game, put Tyler into a position that we don't see him in very often.
The bell sounded and both fighters returned to their corners.
We later found that this round was scored even with one judge giving it to Parr, one to Shakespeare and the last scoring it a draw. On reflection the round had been even balanced
Round 2
The second round started again with Daniel moving in trying to close the range. Tyler this time however was ready, and greeted him with a ram rod jab that knocked back the head of the UDFK fighter.
Tyler had quickly found the formula and waited again for Daniel to come in and again pushing the jab out into the front of his face.
Calls of 'one, two' came from the U.S.K.A corner and again when Daniel came forward Tyler let go with a well timed jab, straight right hand combo as instructed.
With Parr looking less willing now to come forward now Tyler began to enjoy the range and mix in his long kicks to the body.
Anytime Parr rushed in he was intercepted by Tyler stiff jab. Anytime he stayed back it was party time for Tyler's kicks, Parr dilemma was apparent, Round two no doubt was Shakespeare's on all three score cards.
Round 3
The pair came out to resounding chants of U.S.K.A. U.S.K.A. U.S.K.A......Parr had already in the first two rounds proved how tough he was and as the third round started he did the same as in the other two, coming forward but not really landing cleanly.
Tyler confident now leaned out of trouble and countered with clean body kicks.
an just when Parr thought that's all he needed to worry about the Steppin' Razor let go with a jump turning side kick that missed Parr's face by an inch.
Daniel kept coming forward but each time was met by the jab and round kick to the body on the counter.
By the time bell sounded an emphatic performance had unanimously won Tyler the round.
The fighters awaited the decision but the whole crowd knew there was no mistake when the announcement was made. 'Your winner by unanimous decision in the blue corner Tyler Shakespeare'
Scorecards read 29/28 30/28 and 30/27 all in favour of USKA's Tyler 'THE STEPPIN RAZOR' Shakespeare.

The same resounding and rapturous welcome that was enjoyed by U.S.K.A.'s first fighter met the incoming Tommy "Gun" Collett. Machine gun fire and Tommys own brand of Hip Hop music sent shivers through the bones of the awaiting crowd, already awaiting Tommy in the ring was Steve Mullins from Alfie Loves B.B.A. club in Manchester

Tommy 'GUN' Collett Vs Steven Mullins
Rematch time ,Collett and Mullins had met before in February this year when the pair contested the W.K.A British title.
Tommy on that occasion Tommy overwhelmed and beat Mullins via a third round stoppage.
Mullins no doubt this time would come more prepared and better equipped to deal with what the GUN had to offer.
We were about to find out whether it was going to be a case of repeat for Tommy or revenge for Mullins.
After final instructions from referee Cecil Rose the stage was set for the answers.
Round 1
Ring centre and a trade off of straight punches commenced from the opening bell.
Both fighters landing and both fighters having their heads knocked back.
First blood with a scoring kick came for Collett mid way through the round landing a clean left straight leg across the mid section of Mullins. This visibly made his body dip as he winced in pain.
This slowed the Manchester lad right down and he no longer looked in the mood to trade with Tommy.
With a new pace set Tommy started to let go cleaner scoring shots and combinations to end the round.
A round for Collett on all three scorecards. Despite Mullins opening pace it was the question of had the Manchester fighter learnt anything from the pairs previous meeting looked to be, NO.
Round 2
Tommy in round two was in no mood to come off second in the exchanges. Working behind a strong straight one, two, followed by a hurtful body straight leg kick.
Mullins backed up onto the ropes with Tommy following and throwing three straight leg body kicks chopping his man down.
A hard jab to the top of Mullins head saw him duck to get out of the firing line.
Seeing his distress referee Cecil Rose jumped in to administer a count.
Mullins at this point looked troubled and turned to his corner team.
The count continued as the U.S.K.A crowd started to count along side the referee.
As the count of 10 is heard the ref waves off the contest and Tommy Gun is ecstatic at being able to better his previous third round victory over Mullins with a round two 27 second stoppage victory.

Qaisim 'THE DREAM' Nisar Vs Ivor Price
Next up was the fight that all the U.S.K.A fans had been waiting for. A mouth watering clash between arguably the two best cadet 61kg fighters in the country.
Ivor Price a very experienced fighter that has a very crowd pleasing explosive style.
Recent victories for Price had included a 1st round stoppage over Oldham's Richard Sidwell and a 3rd round stoppage over Birmingham's 'PRINCE' Nadeem Mohammed.
Both Sidwell and Mohammed had previously gone the distance with Nisar in fights that had turned into difficult nights for the U.S.K.A golden boy.
With this in mind on paper Nisar was going into the bout the underdog but was eager to prove that he deserves to be in the mix with the divisions best fighters. And was now a much more calculated and improved fighter.
Nisar a relative new comer to the full contact game has shown the same intensity to the full contact discipline that he did in the light continuous arena. In light continuous he has remained unbeaten and has earned himself an English and two versions of the British championship.
Nisar's recent victories include a 3rd round stoppage over Cannock prospect Troy Ktori and a 2nd round stoppage over Dudley's Jonathan 'BULLY' Morris.
Both fighters are technical and both fighters hit very hard for their weight. It was time however to find out who was the more technical and who hit the hardest.
The charismatic Price was the first to the ring as he customary vaulted over the top rope Eubank style to his familiar theme tune of Queen's 'we will rock you'.
Time now for the man everybody has been waiting to see.
Accompanied by his corner team a hooded and focused Qasim 'THE DREAM' Nisar stalked his way to the ring to rapturous applause from the Emerald crowd.
Into the ring and straight over to the Featherstone corner to stare down his opponent.
No nerves there then Qasim!
Both fighters were called to the middle of the ring now as the referee went through his final instructions to both fighters.
An icy stare between the two young warriors took place.
Stares done, Gloves touched, Time for the action...............................

Round 1
Ivor aggressive, Qasim composed. Ivor initiates the first attack with a volley of wide punches that hit Qasim's arms.
Qasim ties him up as the referee intervenes asking both lads to tidy up their work.
Ivor again pushes forward throwing leather.
Qasim although not getting hit cleanly was conceding ground and was finding himself being pushed back against the ropes by the strong aggressive Price.
Qasim was trying to halt Ivor's relentless assault by using the footsweep to off balance him.
This seemed to be working as it was breaking Ivor's rhythm on the attack.
Off a sweep Qasim found a beautiful right uppercut that lifted Ivor's head up to loud cheers from the U.S.K.A supporters.
A hard left round kick to the head from Ivor bounced off the guard of Nisar which again pushes him backwards.
As the pace slowed nearer to the end of the round Qasim was finding more success with push kicks and long right hands but the early work and constant work rate from Ivor had secured him the round on two of the three score cards. Qasim was now playing catch up.

Round 2
Chants of 'Qasim, Qasim' ring out as the second round opens up.
A cracking right hand followed by a hard right leg body kick lands flush into Ivor's side.
Qasim happier now to stand his ground again planted his feet to score with another beautiful straight right hand.
Ivor now was backing up and yet again another straight right hand clipped the top of Ivor's headguard.
Qasim threw a round kick only to be caught and countered by Price coming forward.
This was a wake up call for Nisar knowing that Price was still dangerous and still very much in this fight.
A right uppercut followed by a clipping left hook and punishing straight right hand knocked the head back of Price and as he stumbled back on his heels it looked as though he had been truly hurt for the first time in the contest.
With Price under pressure it was now Nisar who was the aggressor looking to do more damage stalking him back and landing more hard punch combinations that were shaking Price up.
The bell sounded to end the round but because of the amazing atmosphere and the crowd cheering Qasim did not hear the bell. He threw a footsweep followed by a hard straight right hand that landed flush onto Ivor's jaw.
Price wanted more too but corner man Paul Whitehouse ushered him back to the corner defusing the situation.
Clearly a round for Nisar on all the judges cards, and after the initial two rounds it was now honours even and all to play for going into the third and final round.

Seconds away....................

3rd and final round
An initial push from Price saw Nisar again covering up and taking the shots onto his arms.
He knew at this point that Ivor could not sustain the pressure for the whole round and was looking for his gap to strike on the counter attack.
The gap appeared, a volley of two straights, double right uppercut and four straight punches all found their target to the head of the teak tuff price.
A hard straight right body kick from Qasim landed only to be grabbed by Price and held as he pushed Qasim back into the ropes.
The referee stepped in and after previous warnings to Price for holding and hitting he felt it was time to deduct a point for the infringement of the rules from the Featherstone man.
The fight resumed. A big right hand, left hook then landed from Qasim and momentarily Price's legs wobbled.
Another one, two punch combo bounced off Ivor and in an attempt to buy himself some rest bite he grabbed Qasim and ran hum back into the ropes.
The referee again reprimanded Price and warned him of further point deductions that he could make.
As Cecil waved the fight back on Price used his experience and spat out his gumshield to buy himself some more time to rest. A clever move indeed but one that was met with disdain from Qasim's crowd.
The fight continued with Qasim on top. Uppercuts and straights landing cleanly onto Price's head.
When the final bell rang it was Price's turn for some after the bell action.
Both corners jumped in to pull apart the fighters in a scene that looked like something out of a Rocky movie.
Again a clear cut big round to THE DREAM and one that no doubt would see him victorious.
Both fighters even after such a highly charged fight embraced and showed their respects for one another as they were called to ring centre for the result.

With points totals of 29/27 29/27 and 30/28 the winner by unanimous decision...................
Qasim 'THE DREAM' Nisar!

An amazing fight that lived up to all expectations. The rematch for this epic battle was almost made before the first contest had taken place such is the rivalry and competitive nature between these two exciting fighters. This not to distant prospect would more than likely be over 5 rounds to contest the Midland Area title has already been discussed between the two camps and should happen sometime in the new year.
Now that is one fight that you really should not be miss.
Again the U.S.K.A. fiercesome threesome had provided the gym with another three out showing and by their continued success in the ring the Camps coaching team had proven themselves as a force to reckoned with. Many had predicted Tyler would have to show something extra to beat his brave strong and aggressive counterpart and he did just that, showing a side to his fighting skills not previously seen. Tommy must have thought that his adversary for the evening was bringing with him a new or different approach also since they last met and it is without doubt that Mullins is a very capable fighter, but even despite two outstanding displays from "The Gun" those around him know he has even more in the bank that is yet to be unleashed. Who it is that is good enough to push this intensely exciting talent is yet to be found.
As for Qasim well he continues to push back the barriers of what can be expected from him, many people thought that Ivor Price would be Qasims bridge to far, or fight to soon, but confident in his ability, Neil is quite happy to let this future star off his leash and take on the best of the rest, assured in the knowledge this lad is fast tracking his way right to the very top.
Being talented, well taught and focused in training all goes to aid a fighters prospects in the ring, but when the going gets really tough a fighters support can make all the difference.
