The M.A.G.B. Light continuous Day Show
2nd October 2005

U.S.K.A. light contiuous team made their usual strong showing at the weekend with many good results coming from the jnr section of the squad. Most noteably Jake and Stacey Richards again carrying over their good form from their previous outings at the goldstar open. With the bouts being over three one minute rounds the format allowed for quality fighters to prevail with the enthesis being on fitness and technique rather than power and aggression, as is the aim of all light con events. Marshalled By The M.A.G.B.'s ever watchfull of Refferee Big Dave Bignell who again put in an exemplary performance in taking charge of the days proceedings. This day offered again some high class oppostion for our boys and girls with the first time showings of some new gyms namely Paul Gillmores Solihull kickboxing, Imperial Martial Arts, and Zen Martial arts clubs were to name a few gyms to join the list of participating clubs consisting of Paul Suttons Pythons, Aerokick, Ying Yang, Tiger Clan, Jesters (Derbyshire), Wins kickboxing, Force One, the host club B.M.A.C. and of course little ole us U.S.K.A.. Fight of the day is always a close call but U.S.K.A's Jay Collett again showed why he is due to make the step up to greater things in a match against Garths Ying Yang gym fighter Simon Porter, this bout was well contested by two promising young lads but with Jay protraying his excellent footwork and movement winning the day over a game opponent. So much so did this match impress a rematch is on the cards in the not to distant future with this time the 30-33kg Midlands Area Title will be the spoils for the eventual winner.
Narrowly losing out on the day were Haris Khan and Adam Atherley who both came up against quality opposition with Adam being just piped to the kick by his Imperial Martial Arts Opponent and Haris just being outworked slightly. Ohter wins were achieved by
Stacey Richards in her bout
Noir Mohammed who over came a strong Challenge from Callum from Ying Yang
Ridwan and Haroon Khan getting the nod over fighters from Tiger Clan and Solihull Kickboxing respectively
and Jake Richards gaining an impressive result against Luke Douglas from the Pythons gym.
