SOME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND WHAT TO
DO NOW
HOW FIT AND DO I HAVE TO BE TO PARTICIPATE
IN A KICKBOXING CLASS?
The beginners classes are suitable for anybody's fitness
and flexibility level. In time and with consistent regular training
your fitness and flexibility level will improve and as a result you
will be encouraged to work a little bit harder to gain maximum benefit
from your sessions. Until this time everybody is encouraged to work
at their own comfortable pace.
WHAT AGES DO YOU TEACH ON YOUR KICKBOXING CLASSES?
The beginners classes are aimed at 7 year olds and
above although on occasion we will accept a 5 year old if he/she is
an accelerated learner.
You are never to old to start an activity like kickboxing,
each and every person can set their own goals and ambitions and our
instructors will work with you in achieving these.
For our younger prospective students (4-7 year olds)
we encourage them to start off in our Little Ninja's introductory
class which acts as a stepping stone to the beginners classes.
These classes incorporate interactive, basic co-ordination
and confidence building skills along with basic kickboxing and self
defence technique and discipline in a fun and friendly environment.
DO I HAVE TO FIGHT?
No one will be forced to fight. If you do choose to
participate in sparring at the academy it will all be done under strict
supervision and all participants must wear full safety equipment to
take part.
IF I CHOOSE TO COMPETE CAN I?
Yes, being carefully matched with people of the same
age, weight and experience a student can take part in first light
continuous and when ready amateur and professional full contact. U.S.K.A
academy has many champions with many competing right up to world level.
