DERBYSHIRE PANTHERS

NIGHT OF FULL CONTACT KICKBOXING ALFRETON LEISURE CENTRE, DERBY.

SEPTEMBER 16th 2006

'AK 47' GUNS DOWN HIS MAN IN 1 MINUTE 2 SECONDS OF ROUND 1!

Adam 'AK 47' Kiani was USKA's lone ranger travelling down to fight on the Derbyshire Panthers promoted Alfreton card on the 16th September.
Cornermen Neil Kelly, Sean Quinn and Qasim Nisar and loyal supporters
Qasim Ali, Tommy Collett and Tyler Shakespeare made the trip also to finally witness the eagerly awaited ring debut of one of USKA's newest stars.
Adam on arrival found that he was matched against a home town fighter in the form of Bilah Rashid who fights out of the ACE kickboxing gym in Derby.
The fight was set 8th on the card so there would be quite a wait before Adam needed to get ready. He and the boys were in good spirits as they killed time awaiting his call.
After a lengthy warm up a relaxed and confident Adam was hungry to get down to business and as he made his way to the ring there was absolutely no sign of any nerves entering the ring second. We saw a pensive looking Bilah and his team already in the ring looking shocked to see Adams conditioning and excellent physique. First blood in the psychological battle to the USKA corner it seemed.
Referee John Blackledge checked both fighters equipment in their corners and called them both to ring centre for final instructions ahead of the first rounds action.

Coach Kelly with some last minute advice to 'AK 47' Adam Kiani

The incredible bulk Adam flexes as Sean greases up his man.

ROUND 1

Bilah comes out southpaw and straight away shows that he has good kicking ability by firing of a lead leg side kick to head height but short of it's target.
It seems as though he is trying to keep Adam off him and out of punching range. Adam used to dealing with good kickers every day of the week in the USKA gym is unfazed and stalks his man down trying to close off his kicking range.
Adam gets past the leg and Bilah panics resulting in a scrappy punch exchange
between the two fighters.
Adam fires off a hard right straight leg round kick to show he too has fire power in his lags as well as his arms backing Bilah up to the ropes.
The instruction from the USKA corner is to take away the lead leg and counter with the hard straight right hand punch.
Adam does this and grazes Bilah's chin to serve a warning on him.
Feeling this is indeed the key to success Adam again starts to stalk and Bilah again tries to hold him of with the lead leg kick. Adam in better range this time takes away the kick with his lead arm and counter attacks with a well timed lead hook and straight right hand that saw Bilah crash to the canvas.
Credit to Bilah for beating the count but on very shaky legs and in no position to continue referee Blackledge waves off the contest in favour of first round KO to Adam Kiani.

An incredible and explosive ring debut for Adam and a fearsome punching display that will surely earn him many more KO scalps in this game in the near future.
Adam and his team happy with his evenings efforts look forward to his next outing which at this point looks to be in early November at the local Emerald MAGB promoted show.
This will give more of the USKA supporters a chance to see this power house of a fighter in action in the flesh.
Well done Adam on an excellent ring debut that did USKA and yourself proud.
